Inspiring the world to reduce and reuse.
When KeepCup first launched in 2009 with the mission to eradicate single-use cups, the only alternatives were ceramic mugs and bulky thermoses. Their poor usability and aesthetics were barriers for customers and cafes to adopt reusable cups for espresso coffee.
With their bright, bold designs and experience in busy café service environments, KeepCup crafted a product for both the coffee machine and the coffee drinker. More so, they launched a new category of reusable that continues to inspire millions of people around the world to discover and deepen their commitment to reuse.
KeepCup are the world's first barista-standard reusable cups. They are currently available in 5 sizes, made of plastic, glass or double-walled steel. This is the way for KeepCup to encourage behavior that is good for both the planet and the user. Good practices create good habits. Through personal example, we all encourage others to be the source of the change they want to see.
MATERIALS
KeepCup carefully considers material options in design and has made conscious decisions about what to use, and how. All their raw materials are free from phthalates (BPA, BPS, BPF) including DEHP, lead and cadmium, and their products are independently lab tested to verify.
50% of global plastic production is used to manufacture single use packaging and less than 10% of household plastic packaging gets recycled in the UK, while in Australia only 14% of recovered plastic packaging is recycled.
"Recycling" as an overall objective validates waste and does not demand the sort of changes required to transition to a circular economy - that is, designing out waste from products and services to reverse the reality of our linear landfill based global economy through reduction, reuse and repair.
KeepCup was created as a simple solution to a systemic problem - a durable reusable tool that would outperform single-use disposable cups, reduce waste and inspire positive change for those who use them.

It's not a world without plastic. It's a world without plastic waste.

The world's first barista standard reusable cup
Barista standard is a shortcut to describe the design considerations that have gone into creating a product that works for users and baristas.
KeepCup is widely accepted and endorsed by the specialty coffee industry because their design carefully considers busy café environments and reflects disposable cup volumes. Whether you're an espresso, latte or long black drinker, there is a KeepCup size to match your taste.
