Ginger, ground, organic

Ginger is a root and the one that Mill&Mortar uses is grown organically in the Develapola group in the Gampaha district of Sri Lanka.

Ginger has a warm, spicy and sweet aroma, whether fresh or dried, and plays a vital role in Asian cuisine. At home, ginger powder is often used in sweets, soups, marinades and smoothies. Chopped ginger is suitable for mixing with other spices and can be used as an alternative to fresh ginger.

Good, fresh ginger can be recognized by its thin skin and root without sprouts. If you do not have access to fresh ginger root, dry ginger can be used as an alternative.

Ginger, along with chili and garlic, is perhaps the most important spice mix in South Asian cuisine.
